My 2016 Hyundai Tucson is burning oil which is 5w30 , can I use a thicker oil in this engine , which has over 125,000 miles? It’s burning a quart of oil every 1000 miles! I did change the PCV valve , but it did not help ?
Clarification: Which engine?

That trick might be OK on a '49 Hudson but you don't want to use thicker oil in a modern engine equipped with variable valve timing. It can play havoc with the cam phasers. Hyundai considers burning a quart of oil every 1000 miles to be "normal".

You should really get a compression test and a leak down test to isolate the problem area. It might just be valve stem seals, or it might be worn piston rings.
