I have a 2017 Ford F-150 5.0L engine with the new 10 speed automatic transmission. It rattles between gears like a manual transmission does when you shift too soon into a higher gear. I’ve taken to Ford twice, once for a recall where they added a plate, and again where they updated the computer. Neither fixed it and it seems to be worse. Fluid is full and I’m at a loss. Any ideas? Thanks from North Carolina.
If it is under warranty, keep taking it back. My 2018 F150 had what sounds like the same thing and they wound up replacing the transmission.
Thanks buddy. I’m going back tomorrow. I have the extended warranty so hopefully they will honor it.
No problem. Best of luck to you my friend.
You might want to look into your state lemon law for that one.
Will do. Thanks for the advice.
Looking into it and talking to my rancher friends that tow a lot with those 10 speeds, seems Ford needs to do some software update on them or something or go back to a 6 or 8 speed. I know of one case a guy in PA with a 2019 Ranger the 10 speed gave out completely in the middle of a four way.
I tow a horse trailer a lot and I’m afraid this transmission isn’t built for it. Even though I’m well within its towing capacity. Might get a Tundra next time 😕
Yeah Levelfrets413, my buddies say the same thing. Seems like that 10 speed isn’t holding up like Ford thought it would.
