Hello everyone! I own a 2017 honda crv 1.5t that is about to hit 100k miles. I do all my own maintenance and don't follow the car's minder. I was wondering if anyone knew what maintenance I should do for the 100k interval? I have already put new transmission fluid and differential fluid in for the 100k interval. But what about the serpentine belt, brake fluid, spark plugs, valve adjustment, etc? The car drives like brand new and don't know if anything else is worth doing, since I don't have any problems like belt squealing or extra engine noises.
On a side note, I switched from 0w-20 oil to 0w-16 oil in my 1.5t Earth Dreams engine @ 80k miles and I went from 1.3 oil dilution to trace amount. I get better gas mileage and my engine wear metals is less, according to Blackstone labs. (Thanks Scotty!)
Thanks for your help guys!
I would change the coolant, spark plugs, and do the valve adjustment.
I also inspect the followings:
brake fluid.
serpentine belt
Serpentine belt: look at a tensioner indicator marks as car is idling: do they wiggle much? Is the pointer out of range at any time? If no wiggles, pointer roughly in a middle between long and short bar: … belt is fine. Just keep checking it more often from now on. If not, change it.
Brakes: … bleed them. Every two years that’s what I do.
Spark plugs: … change them. It’s time.
Other than that, … inspect everything: bellows, hoses, brake lines, inspect for leaks, clean filters. Make sure all is cool.
F.S.
