Hi Scotty,

My  question is about oil consumption.  2 oil changes ago March 2020 my dealership switched to synthetic oil only.  About 4000km after that oil change  I checked the dipstick and found bearly any oil.  I added 1 litre and  it brought it up to half.  After letting the dealer know we started an oil consumption test by checking every 1500km.  1st check 500ml loss,  2nd 800ml, 3rd 1000ml and 4th 300ml. At this point the  oil was changed and I went in after 1500km and there was no loss of oil. Did they do something or do you have an explanation?? Please  help. Roy Fast  Hamilton, Ontario

What's the mileage on the car? Did this ever happen before?

Some 2.0L Theta non-turbo motors did have an oil consumption problem and a knocking problem in some elantras because of a manufacturing defect in one of their factories a few years ago - but it was mainly dependent on how the car was driven, and the amount of kms/miles were on it.
