Hey, I have a 2017 Nissan Murano Platinum AWD automatic with little over 94,000km and started having a clunking noise coming from drivers front last week and has gotten little worse in the last day or two. Checked ball joints, tie rod ends and struts on both sides. Struts are fine, they’re not leaking, and ball joints and tie rod ends are good. Anything to look for? This is my first Nissan.
Never go to Pep Boys or any of these chain stores for automotive services. They do not have qualified mechanics. All they are going to do is rip you off. You need to go to a specialty alignment shop for diagnosis and repair of the problem.
Pep Boys is about the worst of all!
Control arm bushings possible. Front sway bar bushings far more likely. With the front suspension unloaded check to see if the front sway bar can be shifted side to side and if it moves you need the bushings
engine/tranny mounts?
Check for the bushings. If those are bad, it may show a similar experience.
I didn't say to have work done, just a free brake check from the morons there and they look at the arms for free and you walk away.
you can't trust them to do that
Exactly right @mmj.
Go in for a free brake check at pepboys. The mechanics may look into it free of charge if you walk up to the garage and talk about it.
My opinion is nissan control arms get damaged when taken on garbage roads to often.
