Hey Scotty my step dad has spent about 7,000$ on his 2017 Chevy Silverado Z71 1500 in the past 3 months because he keeps taking it to the dealership recently he had some clogged injectors that they wanted to replace so we cleaned them and they were fine after everything was put back together the power steering didn't work so I told him I'm pretty sure the system will have to be reset or updated and to take it to a garage I know that deals a lot with newer vehicle electronics but he took it to the dealership and they said it needed a power steering module and it comes as one unit with a gear and it will cost 2200 dollars he got it back yesterday and we noticed there's new tie rods on it I'm sure they just keep messing him around and charging him for things they don't even do I wanted to know what you think he should do he still owes 30,000$ on it and has 100,000 miles on it he hates this truck

Sounds like he really overpaid for that truck! To owe that much at 100k miles... {black}:shutmouth:

I would get rid of it as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

Trucks are in high demand and it’s a strong seller’s market;  put it up for sale (including offering to dealers) and see what you can get for it, you may be surprised.  If he gets a good price for it, then definitely get rid of it as it’s becoming a money pit.

As scotty said they are having MAJOR quality controol issuses and everything is going down the drain with GM I would keep it untill you have another problem and if its major i think its time to get rid of it is is a clunker at that point

You should find a good independent mechanic. They won't try to replace things you don't need, as much as dealerships.

Never buy a GM product truck unless it's a 3/4 ton or was made before 2007.
