2017 Toyota Corolla ECO mode

Hi Scotty,

I’m buying a 2017 Toyota Corolla LE from a used car dealership, it’s an automatic with only 62 000kms on it.

When I was driving it a green “ECO” light would go off on the dash board occasionally. I’ve read a bit about what eco mode does for the car in terms of fuel efficiency. I’m trying to figure out if there is a way of deactivating or turning off this option on the car. Also, is there any negative effects of activating ECO mode on the car in terms of affecting the engine long term. Any advice, opinions, or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

It just gets better gas mileage and where is the engine out and a transmission less. Most of them are automatic and they just come on and off depending if you're driving slower or faster. But some you can switch modes. If you have a switch that turns you can put on eco normal sport. Some are set up that way some aren't
