Hello Scotty,
I was considering purchasing a 2017 Toyota Highlander, but I was doing some reading and it seems like they are having some problems with the 8speed Automatic Transmission that is in the vehicle. Is there anything I should watch out for or should I consider a different vehicle?

There is a TSB for that. Call a Toyota dealer and provide them the VIN# of the car and they can tell you if it has gotten the service or not. If not, ask them if it is still eligible for that. Apparently, the software update provided by Toyota will solve the issue:
