Hello, Great advice, thank you.
We have a 2018 Ford F150 5.0 engine. The phasers are very noisy almost all the time, and our warranty has expired. The runner in the intake makes a loud noise when the vehicle reaches the speed set by the throttle or when the truck changes gears.
The dealers have insisted all along that the noises are normal.
We have changed oil from 5/20 to 5/40w and the phasers are a lot better. The truck runs much smoother and quieter.
We change to 93 octane and the noise from the intake is mostly gone.
Will we do harm running a heavier oil?
Thank you for the honesty. {black}:sweaty:
Well on that big V8 engine. No it shouldn't hire anything as long as you're not living way up in Alaska where it's really really cold and it won't flow early fast enough
