The oil light came on so I pulled over and checked the oil. It had plenty. I got back on the road and the car died. The car cranked but wouldn't start and the check engine light came on. Code for bad Cam Shaft sensor. Put on a new Cam Shaft sensor. The engine would crank but still wouldn't start. Checked codes and it had one for bad Crank Shaft sensor. Instead of just throwing parts at it, I had it towed to the Ford Dealership. They said it had Codes:U0100, U1040, U0422, U2300 and U3003. They also said it needed a new Crank Shaft sensor and a Wire Harness ($1700labor & $575parts). I felt like they were just going to throw parts at it and have me pay for them, so I had it towed home. I put a Crank Shaft sensor on it and it still won't start. What do I look at next?

Code U100 indicates the PCM cannot communicate with the rest of the car. This could be due to PCM failure or wiring problems. All the codes appear to indicate communication problems, directly or indirectly.

As far as the oil light, on most cars it indicates loss of oil pressure rather than oil level. However it is probably triggered by the computer and it could be a symptom of the overall problem.

The timing chain might be stretched and the timing is off.

Thanks. Timing is good.
