Hi - I like the features that coming with the touring model (9-speed), but read a few things that the EX-L model (6-speed) is better.  It states the 9-speed is too complicated and tries to adapt to your driving habits etc.   Will I have a lot of problems with the 9-speed?   What to do?  Sonyncher

The 6 speed should be more reliable. A few years back Honda started pushing its CVT and 8/9/10 speed autos and they had problems when they came out the 6 speed automatic has been out longer. Also many owners report jerking in the 9 speed autos, which Honda claims to have fixed (which seems to be not the case).

I would stick to the tested and proved 6 speed transmission. The 9 speed may get a better gas mileage but down the road you will have more problems. On the other hand, you are talking about a big vehicle which at the end of the day, the difference on mpg more depends on how you drive.
