Hey Scotty,

We’re looking to purchase a used 2018 model Infiniti Q50 2.0t (4 cylinder), probably from a dealer. What do you think about the turbo and how long could it last. Love your channel!

You did not mention the mileage and price, but regardless, I would say No. Do not even think about that car, unless you get it dirt cheap, because:

1- It is a 3 years old 4 cylinder turbocharged Infiniti which constantly tells you that it will convert to an extreme money pits in the near future.

2- The parts are expensive and believe or not will break in front of your eyes.

3- CVT transmission is another issue. I'm not fan of this type of transmission and if this is made by Jatco, then it should be garbage.

I'm sorry to disappoint you on this car, consider Lexus ES or GS and instead.

The Q50 does not use a cvt they use the 7 speed auto which to date has been a very solid trans. I would recommend the Q50 they are sharp looking cars and not very problematic

It could last for 120 130k miles but after that it will have too many issues specifically with the CVT and other issues that pop up overtime. If you like it and you are happy with 8-10 years out of a car it could be excellent but after that don't expect much out of it.
