2018 Mustang GT - Gas Smell on Dip Stick

Hey,

Just for the heck of it I was checking out the oil on my 2018 Mustang GT... it has the Coyote V8 Gen 3 in it.... about 15,900 miles on it.... 6-Speed Manual and the Dip Stick smells like gasoline.

The oil has the perfect color and feel to it... but there's a pretty big gasoline smell to it if you try and smell the Dip Stick. I'm not sure what to think? The car runs fine and doesn't do anything weird. Only been 2 months and about 2,000 miles since it's last oil change.

What do you think my first course of action should be? Still has about 2 years left on the factory powertrain warranty...... Do you think it might be the piston rings leaking gas into the oil pan? Should I request a compression test on the pistons?

What would you do?

Thank you!

Share a request a testing now all oil smells of gasoline a little bit and winter a lot of times it will smell more because of the cold and the Piston Ring shrink a little but it's worthwhile having a test on

Sounds reasonably normal to me, especially if the level stays the same. You can request a test, (not to be the devil's advocate here) but I doubt they'll do anything. Dealers rarely do.

I don't usually go sniffing my dipsticks, but my 09 Focus's always smelled like gas.
