Here's what I'm going to look at tomorrow. 2018 Toyota Highlander SUV, 18,878 MI, 3.5 V6, here's my question, what do you think about the 8-speed automatic electronic with ECT-i ? And it's AWD. Is that known to be a problem tranny? And thanks for all your help this is a big decision for me.

Bump.

The 2018 8spd trans. had a hesitation issue (across all Toyota models). Where if you were almost at a stop (like at a yield sign), but were still rolling and then you tried to accelerate. The trans would hesitate for a second or two before taking off. It was all software, so reprogramming was the fix. So, just make sure the transmission software is the most up-to-date version and should be ok on that point. It's a nice SUV, good luck.

They're good SUV's. Just have the one you wind up interested in checked out by a mechanic before you purchase.

Also, if that vehicle’s VIN was part of the recall make sure the fuel pump was replaced:
