I'm not familiar with Ford Rangers, are they good trucks? I'm not gonna be towing a bunch of heavy stuff so I didn't need a big truck

Ford Ranger?   No.  This has been discussed on our forum many times if you do a search.

The old ones (pre-2012 when they were classified as compact trucks) were decent. The guts of them originated in the 1980s and they improved them mainly through updated sheet metal. They also updated to electronically controlled transmissions from their analog counterparts, otherwise, they're basically the same. Not so much for the new ones. They used a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine meant for the EcoBoost Mustangs to power a midsize truck. I'm also pretty sure they used the same GM-Ford 10-speed automatic transmission that has had recalls.

Are they different from the F-150? I've never heard of them, either, but I live in the States. Did you mean the Ford Maverick? If you meant the Maverick, it's a new vehicle with not much history. It's also Made in Mexico, which automatically means it isn't exactly quality made.
