Just got a new 2020 Honda ridgline I live in a cold climate and I always shut off the engine stop start manually because I believe that the engine should stay running is it hard on the engine to be stoping and starting all the time thx
And is there any thing to watch out for it’s some times hard to weed out good advice from bad advice these days this is my first time using online but appreciate Scotty Kilmer for his honest and no bull approach
You are doing a good thing regardless of the weather condition.
Honda's run a long time -if- the fluids are changed religiously.
I change oil when the monitor says 50% on an HRV.
Mostly because we only drive short trips in city.
The monitor would pretty much allow for some 1,000 cold starts and short trips in the dead of Winter before hitting 0%.
Oddly, the computer said to change differential fluid at 13,000 miles (surprised me, but I changed it anyways).
