Hello Mr. Kilmer, I am looking to start a large family, would a 2021 GMC Yukon SLE, which can seat nine persons, be a good buy in terms of longevity and reliability, to have in a Caribbean country where there are no GMC dealerships?
Never buy it as a long term vehicle. I'm assuming you pick the GMC Yukon because of features. If you want the vehicle very badly for your family, just lease it and get out of your system. We don't know the problems that will come up in later years. Anyway, give us an update if you plan to lease it.
Definitely no. And that MY is the start of a new generation and you know there will be bugs/kinks to work out. GM quality has been going downhill over the past few decades and their latest vehicles are chock full of tech and below average quality control. And with no dealer support there, I would look at something else like a Toyota.
Long term they fall apart and if there are no dealerships that just strengthens my NO.
Absolutely not. It is actually one of the worst choices you could make as you have no dealer to go to when it breaks, which it will.
If you plan on keeping it for a long time and not doing maintenance and repairs yourself, get whatever you can get serviced in your area.
