Hey Scotty,

If you have to choose between a 2021 Nissan Sentra and a 2021 Hyundai Elantra both with a manual, which one would u pick?

Clarification: how many years and miles does one need it to last?

Also guys it's forced, you can't pick anything outside these two. So no Corolla, Civic, Mazda3, VW Golf, etc.

Forced? Forced by whom? Why don’t you simply "force" that “whom" to address this question directly to this forum? Some of us will take it from there, …

Neither. If my life depends on it I  would go Nissan.

If you really hate Honda and Toyota, … I would go see Mazda instead, … and ask what they can do for me. But Nissan, Hyundai? I would just dial up 911 and follow the following script:

"Hello, 911? I’ve been lying awake for an hour each night, reliving a two-second problematic experience: … er, thinking about 2021 Nissan Sentra (6 Speed manual) and 2021 Hyundai Elantra (6 speed manual), … pondering which one to choose! Than, I realized, … 911 service! Yes, … Can you, please, help me?"

Out of the two, definitely the Hyundai Elantra.

The Hyundai G4FP (“1.6 T-GDI”) engine is quite honestly alright. Not the greatest, but it is not bad. These engines usually last about 150,000 miles.
I’d recommend the 1.6 Gamma, these usually last even 200,000 miles although they do tend to developed valve clutter after a while.

the worst car, but the best engine is the Nissan Sentra. The HR16DE 1.6L (Renualt H4M) is a complete marvel of engineering and often gets put on the best gasoline engines ever made list.

Here this engine (with English subtitles) has ranked as 7th best ever.

But the rest of the car, it just falls apart.

Overall the Hyundai Elantra is the better option although it probably won’t last much over 150,000 miles.

if you want to spend more, I’d get a manual civic 2.0 (NOT 1.5), or Corolla 1.8 (NOT 2.0) or Mazda3 2.0 (on those even the automatics are good)
