Tacoma ... unless you need the extra room and towing capacity of the F150.

Remember too, they are easier to fit in today's every-shrinking parking spots. 

My work mates have those 2 trucks,  both trucks can take fairly many tools and I never see them break down. 

I am not sure new F150 base model has same turbocharged V6 engine I will double check it. 
If you wish to have more powerful truck for towing, F150 is a great buy. 
If Tacoma’s engines are enough for you, go with it.

But certain Tacomas are made in Mexico I believe. I guess if Scotty’s here he won’t recommend you buy taco.(He loves Texas version)

In my area both 2 truck hold their values very well, I agree with you when used ones are expensive, just buy new. For some of us, brand new ones make us feel more comfortable.
