Hello,
Bought a 2022 Highlander L AWD as a family hauler in August and I'm having some small, but odd issues that I did not think I would have with a Toyota.
1. Drivers side rear view mirror shakes at high speed. Has been replaced once, and still shakes or vibrates at highway speeds.
2. Steering wheel is not centered. It is off, and veers to the right slightly. First time i brought to shop to fix I thought it was the alignment. Alignment is fine, its the steering wheel.
3. The dash board where the speedo and tach are located, in direct sunlight there are thousands of tiny fine scratches. You cannot see this at any other time.
Dealer states they can not fix these items.
The dealer says they have opened a FTS case for the 3 issues. So I have to wait until the regional engineer looks at these issues. I do have the paperwork for this.
I will be given a rental when regional engineer inspects car.
Am I being fed a line of bs about fixing these small issues?
If Toyota can not fix these issues do they buy the car back?
I had a 16 4Runner that did not have one issue. I know they are build in different factories, but very strange.
Any advice or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. thanks
Be patient but persistent. If you bought it new, these appear, from your description, to be manufacturing defects. Look at the door jamb. Was it made in Mexico? If so, these won't be your only problems.
