Scotty, I have a brand new 2022 Honda Odyssey EX-L. I have 1300 miles on the vehicle have had since it had 4 miles on it. I have an area I pass thru once and a awhile with road construction and sometimes I have had to floor it to get into traffic. This has been on 3 occasions and I came close but have never redlined. Everything seems fine but not getting the mileage that it's rated for. It's rated for 22 mpg highway and city combined. I'm getting 17mpg. The dealer says give it to 5,000 miles to get it broken in. Is this right or might I have done something during the break in period to have it have the lower mpg?
The dealer is blowing smoke. It doesn't take 5000 miles to break in an ICE. As far as the mileage, whoever put that rating on it for mpg is lying too. Welcome to reality.
