2022 Toyota Tacoma 4WD Automatic

  • 159-hp 180 lb-ft of torque 2.7L 4 Cylinder
  • 19 City / 22 Hwy / 20 Avg
  • 278-hp 265 lb-ft of torque 3.5L V6
  • 18 City / 22 Hwy / 20 Avg
  •
  • They now basically have the same mpg according to the Toyota website.  Trying to figure out should I go with a V6 or the 4 Cylinder?  The V6 is an additional $2,260.
  •
  • I will do the occasional offroading through roads that maybe rocky and/or muddy but not regularly.
  • Probably do runs to the box stores to fill up the bed with building materials, mulch, etc. periodically.
  • Also a couple times a week hope to haul my 2 170lb kayaks.  1 in the bed and the other on a bed rack.

I own a '19 Tacoma SR with the I4 auto...................get the V6. I live in central PA with lots of hills and will be trading my '19 in for a '22 with a V6.

great info!

Boot, sticking with the SR? Contemplating between the SR (to save money) & SR5.

I'm thinking the TRD Sport for my next one.

Get the TRD Sport with the manual 6 speed. It's the only Tacoma available with a manual. You'll be glad you did.

I'm leaning that way Doc, can't go wrong with the manual tranny. The trouble is that I want a 6 foot bed and the manual tranny only come with the 5 foot bed.

I also want the 6ft bed plus others may need to drive the truck from time to time so the manual option is out for me.

V6 would be best.

Definitely pick the V6.
