Hi Scotty, my son is planning to buy brand new 2023 Dodge challenger Scat pack 6.4L engine. He is confused between the auto vs manual transmission. May I know which one is more reliable and better resale value? Your feedback is appreciated.

The manual is by far the better option. There are no moving parts, beyond your pressing of the clutch and moving a gearshift yourself. Whether or not your son can drive a stick shift is up to you.
I agree with @justin-shepherd that manual is more reliable. And the 6.4 with a manual gearbox will be quite the experience.
For resale, I would look at listings for past years. Most buyers prefer automatic (other than for certain sporty, small cars like Miata and WRX). So I would guess auto will have better short term resale. But long term (10+ years) might be different, since by then you will be looking at a bit different kind of buyer (and a lot of the automatics will be starting to die off).
