2024 Toyota Prius PHEV
hey Man been a fan for awhile, love the honest opinions.
i have a question that im not sure you'll have an answer to and I'll try to keep it short.
just got 2024 Prius plugin. 1st few weeks of drving the car uses almost all the time pure battery for up to 60km then hybrid kicks in.
This past week I've notice its using mainly gas mode over battery even though i keep it fully charged every night and drive in EV mode. I don't understand why its not using pure battery like the 1st few weeks i had it even though its in EV mode and yes i do drive conservatively and not stomping on the gas. it has been cold this week and curious if that factor into the car using gas over battery. Well when it's cold all bets are off on those plug-in hybrids. Wait till it's warm outside and see if it will go a distance. If it doesn't take it back to Toyota that would mean something's wrong because I've seen guys in the summer drive those things 50 mi on electricity alone even on the highway
