I own a 2026 Subaru Forester Hybrid with 2500 miles. I've had a few times where the engine starts rough & sometimes idles rough but not consistently.
I just read where others with the same vehicle are having the same issue and, thus far, Subaru doesn't have a fix other than to walnut blast the valves in extreme cases. The cause I've read is the direct injection that the boxer engines have and since it's a hybrid, the engine cuts off frequently & never allows the engine to get up to operating temp.
My concern is Subaru will do the fix as long as my vehicle is under warranty, but after the warranty I'm on the hook for future repairs that seemed to be related to this issue.
I'm beginning to think I should look for another vehicle. Any thoughts?
Of course the car shouldn't do that. Film it with your phone. It's doing it. Go to the dealer, show him the video and tell them to give you a rental car until they fix it. And if they don't fix it, keep doing it a different Subaru dealers and get a receipt and then sue them under the lemon law and they will have to buy the stupid car back if they don't fix it
