Hey Scotty!!! Did a 2 1/2 - 3 inch lift on my 02 4runner SR5. Only has 103k miles!!! The Inner CV boots have failed now so I think I am going to replace the entire axle since they aren’t much more than just the boots. I’ve looked at many forums and they mention continued failure of the boots. I think I am going to do a 1 inch drop on the differential before I replace the axles to help reduce the angle. Would you suggest going ahead and putting on extended boots from the get-go or do you think the diff drop will help. I’m just trying to fix this once and done.
If there are aftermarket axles specially made for lifts, get those. OEM axles are not designed for any lifts, only stock ride height.
If you don't have any vibrations or clicking from the axles, you can just change the boot.
