Hey Scotty i have 04 dodge dakota sport. what do you think about a 4.7L swap for a 5.9L engine? Maybe i should just trade the dakota in for a ram that has the 5.9l.
I know just the guy @Mod_Man. Do you have a reason to swap the engine? Mod_Man works a lot with engines. So he will tell you based on his experience. The problem with changing engines is that you have to change electronics which is hectic when you are doing by yourself. Also, you don't know the lifespan or the history of it. Mod_Man will probably have a different point of view.
Thanks for the tag and recommendation! {black}:cool:
@Mod_Man Yep your welcome
I agree it's better just to get the truck with that engine in instead
@scottykilmer. It's based on your videos lol.
Definitely get the Ram with the engine already in it. That swap on a Dakota would cost a small fortune due to all the extra parts you would have to change to make it work. You would have more in it than your truck is worth. Even when done you would be chasing down gremlins for quite some time. With the new truck you at least get a warranty as well.
I love me a good engine swap, but they are case by case as far as being worth doing. And this one isn't. Good choice of engine in the Cummins though. If you want it, go with the Ram.
