I'm looking to buy a 1972 mustang 302 v8 with 60,000 miles on it. I would just like to know what to look for in the car to make sure it's good.

Rust is a big deal. Make sure you go over the frame very well and that it is solid. If it is rusted, walk away. Also check for body damage and poor repairs, make sure the VIN of the car matches the motor, and get a mechanic to really go over it before you buy.

After nearly 50 years unless it's already been rebuilt you can bet the suspension bushings are shot, and for that matter so would any original rubber that might still be present. That's fixable though - as Mod_Man says, checking for rust should be the first priority.

Great respect to that collectible antique
