Hey scotty ive got an 1988 Ford Festiva LX with 244,000 miles with a 5spd. you're car Jesus by the way haha! I can't seem to get the idle lower than 1300 rpms when its warm to get smogged any suggestions? {black}:starryeyes: also if you know anything about these motors should I keep it for the long haul? its so cheap to get repaired over and over im just worried about parts eventually going out of stock in the near future thanks again!

Its 35 years old with 1/4 million miles, that has been a long haul already!

Possibly a small vacuum leak, have you checked for that?
Haha true enough! It’s such a great little car I might consider rebuilding the same motor. Also I have checked for vacuum leaks, I myself don’t have any real equipment to check for that but I’m going to keep digging because that’s what I came to conclusion is my issue a leak somewhere….
