'89 Celica vs '02 Corolla

I'm looking at an immaculately kept 1989 Toyota Celica GT Convertible with only 42,000 miles on it. It's an automatic, and has been garage kept for most of its life. From the research I've done it seems I'll need to replace most of the rubber components of the car and refill the fluids due to it's age. Are Gen 4 Celica's as reliable as their other Toyota counterparts? (I drive an '02 Corolla LE with 150k Miles) and how expensive or difficult would this car be to repair.

those are extremely reliable vehicles it's old celica's but of course they're extremely old now too so expect a lot of rubber things to go wrong. You would not have nearly the problems in the 02 Corolla which would be a more dependable transportation but wouldn't look as cool
