Im looking to buy my first truck but I keep seeing gmc sierras when looking for obs Silverado’s. Aren’t they the same truck though?

In the beginning there were only GM C/K pickups.
In 1988, GMC started calling theirs the Sierra
In 1999, Chevrolet started calling theirs Silverado
They are all the same truck.
