Hi all! I just bought a 94' f-150 with the 5.8. I noticed it shakes during idle. It's not bad...but enough that I'd recognize it. I replaced the spark plugs, wires, cap/rotor, and fuel pressure regulator. I also checked all relays/fuses and still shakes. Has plenty of power and decent throttle response and does not shake when I hit the gas. Also smells gassy during idle.
I was thinking it could be a clogged catylitic converter but just not sure.
Any help is appreciated!

Check for vacuum leaks.

After you check for vacuum leaks, check your base timing & make sure that's all set then fine tune it.
Is it carbed or throttle body?
Throttle body
