Yes I do have a 96 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 Country edition 4 by 4 automatic cranks but no spark what's the best way to test a crankshaft position sensor on this vehicle and would that make the vehicle not get Spark

A bad crankshaft position sensor will certainly cause a NO SPARK condition.

The easiest way to begin the diagnosis is to connect a cheap scanner and switch to LIVE DATA.

Observe the Engine RPMs on the scanner as you crank the Jeep.

If it doesn't move off of "0 RPMs" it's time to check the Power, Ground, and Signal at the crankshaft position sensor's connector.

If you do read RPMs on the scanner during cranking, then your crankshaft position sensor is OK
