losing oil

Hey Scotty, I have a 99 Corolla CE with 172,000 miles (supposedly) that I bought back in 2012 when I was still in the army and it has always used oil. I've never been able to figure out if it's burning it or if it's leaking. I don't see an oil spot where I park it but I have noticed it does smoke a little when its first started. It's an old car and it has a few issues but I'm a Toyota guy like yourself and I just don't want to give up on it. Should I scrap it or try to fix it.

You have that car for 11 years now, and it is losing oil all that time.

Despite this, you are in deep love with that car.

Now you are worrying about the loss.

Having seen many of Scotty's videos, I happen to know what he will advise:

'fill up regularly and go on with living', a.k.a. 'don't care'........

Note: from what you wrote, it is burning the oil...

Suggestion: let a friend drive your car, drive in his car close to him, and observe the exhaust fumes in front of you.

These will be blueish.
