Hello,
I have a 99 Lexus ES300 - with 176,000 miles. Its runs and drives like its fresh off the assembly line.
No major issues at all in the last 15 years.
Problem: The brake booster went out and the mechanic has tried several different after markets parts (AutoZone, O'Reilly, Advance Auto and Napa. We even tried Rock Auto. None of parts fit my particular model. It seems my car has both VSC and traction control.
Even with the VIN number, no Lexus dealer in the country has the part. And I mean none. The car was made in Japan. According to my local Lexus dealer- Japan doesn't have the part either.
How is this possible that car maker doesn't have the part?? I need help.
This is a very good car and I don't want to lose it for something as simple as bad brakes.
Please advise- Thanks Houston TX
Can you provide the part number for the brake booster you look for?
Hello- This is the Lexus part # 4461 033 530 -

It's not unusual for a car maker to stop making or stocking parts for a car that's over 20 years old, especially if it's a low-volume part.
