hi!
i bought 99 tacoma v6 automatic 2wd , after driving it for a few days i noticed everytime i come to a complete stop the transmission or engine drops pretty hard, a few days later i noticed everytime i release brake pedal to start moving it also drops a little bit, do u think its a sensor or engine/transmission mount?
It sounds like a large, vacuum leak somewhere in the engine compartment, since you mentioned the brakes are affected and they run on vacuum. Check your connections to the intake manifold vacuum take offs to find the problem.
vacuum leaks could cause that?
im hoping its not my transmission and praying its not a hard shift, otherwise i'd have to replace transmission. i was quessing maybe a mount (eng/trans) or a sensor,.
but yea it does it a little when i first take off in DRive, then it does it again when i come to a complete stop
If your sitting there in park with the engine running the rpm should drop slightly when you put on the brake. This is because manifold vacuum is being drawn off to activate the brake booster diaphragm (14.7 lbs/sq. inch). I still think it's a vacuum leak issue. If it's not a vacuum hose or connection, it could be a leaking intake manifold. Spray some carb cleaner and, if the rpm rises so you can hear it, you have a vacuum leak.
