About a month ago I bought a 2000 Chevy Silver 1500 with the 5.3L V8, interior clean no tears on the seats, two owners, the first changed cloth to leather, when I bought it had 144,K and change. Got it for $5K no codes no nothing I only changed the v...

This is what I do when i get a used vehicle:

Change the oil

Change the coolant

Check the brakes and put on new pads and rotors if needed

Change both radiator hoses

This gives you a "starting point" for future maintenance


Also change the rear differential gear oil. If 4x4 also front diff. and transfer case....In today's market, that's really good.

I just picked up a 1995 Oldsmobile Silhoette mini van for $1950. 120K miles. Perfect leather interior. Ice cold A/C. Power sliding door, Seats 7 in captains chairs. If you look hard enough, and pass up all the crappers, you may find a jewel. I think you have. Treat it well and it should do the same for you.
