I hooked up gauges to my car and my high side and low side pressure are the same what causes this
My ac compressor was running
Then it's not working. Some compressors incorporate a control valve that might be the cause of the problem. It would be helpful if you would provide the vehicle information that you read about when you checked out the provisions of the "Read This First" section at the top of the main page.

If the AC is off (compressor not running) it is of course normal and expected. If your compressor is running it is worn out and not pumping.
