Good Afternoon Scotty,
I have a Nissan Pathfinder 2003, 3.5L V6 4x4
Having a weird AC issue can't get it figured out. System has Freon, connected gauges it's in the green.
AC compressor turns on but won't cool at all, just pulls in air from outside.
Trying to figure out what else it could be.
You probably have a problem within the dashboard. Since Air conditioning in cars are computerized, the computer is not letting the door open which goes from the AC evaporator in the dash. If that's the case, you need a mechanic with a high-end scan tool to get to that system.
What do you mean by "in the green"? What are your actual high and low system pressures shown on your manifold gauge set when the compressor is running?
I think he's trying to say that he doesn't need to add any freon.
But how does he know that? Without specific system pressures he (and we) have no idea what's going on in that AC system. Also, if that vehicle has a variable-displacement compressor (most from 2000s-on do) you cannot judge system charge by the pressures unless it is extremely too low or too high.
If your evaporator is not accessible to check its temperature directly, you can get a rough idea if the mechanical parts of the AC system are working by the hose temperatures. The high side hose from compressor to condenser should be hot, and the low side hose going back into the compressor should be cold when the AC compressor is running
