Sounds like fan blades on blower. There's a resistor pack close to the blower motor in the airbox that goes bad a lot in a lot of vehicles. Easy to check if you have a multimeter/ohmeter. I'd also pull the cabin air filter and take a good look in that area for trash/leaves/etc in airbox area. This should get you closer to the issue and if lucky, a resistor (fan speed control) pac and cabin air filter will get you cool again ; )
ok cool! i thought so as well. air filter was replaced not too long ago & i was thinking blower needs to be replaced. id i also like to mention the fan blows only out of the top & if i hit a bump or park on an incline where im facing downward it may kick on at full speed. is that the blower still just being knocked into place where it can spin temporarily? or is that an actuator just broken?
That does sound like actuator.
Check the fans and actuator.
Ford is notorious having AC Actuator problem.
@munchkin
ok thanks!
Check the AC actuator it sounds like a broken tooth and the flapper is just slamming in there from the air blowing those plastic parts cracks after some time
When my AC stopped working I just wore swim trunks and kept a bag of ice cubes in my pocket. Good thing I have leather seats! Poor man's slip and slide.
@toylex420
i keep a frozen water bottle in there w me. i stay in tx, thats no fun
That does sound like one of the diverter flap actuators has a broken tooth. Use a long rubber hose, stick one end by your ear and poke around with the other end and listen for where it's the loudest when you put the hose on it.
@hogdoctor
will do. Thanks!
