Hello! I have a 2013 Ford Explorer and I have had trouble with the AC for the last three summers. I’ve noticed the AC does not blow cool air when it’s over 90 degrees outside. I’m from the south so this is a daily issue. I’ve also noticed if I crack my windows cool air will start blowing from the ac vents. This summer it is taking my ac longer to work properly. I’ve recharged it and that’s not the issue. Any ideas? Thank you
Was the system first evacuated, then the refrigerant weighed/measured and then added to the system because your description sure makes this seem like a typical case of "a low refrigerant level".
well it's 10 years old now. Probably needs a recharge.
Aside from the question of whether the system was properly recharged, make sure all radiator and/or condenser fans are working. I have a similar issue on my own car and it is due to a failed condenser fan.
