- Scott the accelerator petal on 2013 santé fe sport AWD with 175,200 miles goes dead randomly when I’m driving, especially in the rain. All wiring is clean and connected. Replaced alternator twice with oem. Accelerator assembly has also been replaced all these parts within 3 months of each other. Not one mechanic can figure this out what do I do? Much love from New York.

I would hook up a diagnostic tool and to see what the accel pedal sensors are doing, the commanded throttle position value, and what the throttle actuator is doing in response.

After doing the obvious things like checking the oil quality, if the air filter is clean, is the throttle is dirty,...
Check if the pins on the throttle are oxidised, if they are clean them too.
What you'd want to do is connect a scanner and monitor:
- RPM,
- fuel pressure,
- accelerator position sensor 1, accelerator position sensor 2
- throttle position 1, throttle position sensor 2
- and any additional fields that may suggest as to wether the ECM has received your request for more power.
Does the live data drop out for a second when it's not responding?
If you tell cruise control to accelerate when the it's not responding to the pedal - does it?
When you disconnect the accelerator pedal - in a safe manner, does it have the same readings as during the failure?
