Hi Scotty -- thanks for the reply about the accord steering issue and possible recall. . .hoping you can add a little more insight. . .accord owners who have experienced this steering issue say the car actively jerks to one side (usually left) without any driver input and without warning. Short of demonic possession, what on Earth could cause this? Doesn't sound like a simple loss of power assist, does it? Yikes.
Here's a quote about the NHTSA investigation: "The federal agency, which in charge of investigating consumer safety complaints about cars, began its query after receiving 107 complaints about a sudden loss of steering control for those vehicles. The agency analysis of the complaints indicates that “under normal driving conditions, with no warning or input from the driver, the vehicle may veer or jerk out of its intended path of travel.”
Unfortunately when I go to electronic power steering it's all controlled by computers and sensors and yeah they can all the sudden make a jerk one way or the other that's electronics and computers for you
