Hi Scotty.
I have a 2013 Acura MDX with 55,000 kilometres. Given its age, should I change the timing belt even though I'm far from the mileage recommendation?
It's been through 10 Canadian winters with me. Would that shorten the timing belt's lifespan?

Yes. The rubber belt deteriorates with age as well as mileage, and you have an interference engine.
