Hey I have an acura tl 2004 automatic and it would stop accelerating while I'm driving and the rpms still go up but the car won't move and I changed the transmission fluid and it was dark. The last time I changed the transmission fluid was 2 mouths after I checked it again. I also had a checked engine light when it first happened and the codes where P0700 and P0174 can anyone help the mechanics are saying that I have a leak in my transmission but I checked the fluid and it's still full.
Well the only thing that can do that is internal transmission problems. If you do have a leak it could make it slip like that and if you don't see it leaking inside that would mean it has an internal leak like a person with a heart murmur and it's a fortune to rebuild one of those Acura transmission
What would be the best way to know if the transmission is leaking internally
What would be the best way to know if the transmission is leaking internally
Take it to a transmission pro who can analyze the inner workings with a high-level scan tool.
Also what about the codes P0700 and P0174
P0700 indicates an internal transmission problem. P0174 is unrelated and is flagging a lean condition on bank 2, likely a vacuum leak.
Those cars are known for having weak transmissions. That one lasted 19 years which isn't too shabby.
