I have been using a pretty aggressive set of winter tires I had left from my 2004 Pilot on my 2017 Outback every winter since new (was surprised they fit). I had a buddy tell me recently it is very rough on the suspension and transmission. Is that true & how big a deal if so? Thanks
driving on winter tires is perfectly fine, as long as they are the correct size, and all 4 have even wear.
Thanks for the reply, the tires are 1” smaller & significantly wider (although seems to fit the wheel well similar). It’s been making a sound like a cross between a giant frog’s mating call & a deck of cards being shuffled when I push it a bit at low speeds in snow in parking lots and parking in (on) snow (ice) piles on the lovely city streets. Thinking differential…hoping not transmission.
