[Solved] Air Conditioning not working 2006 Subaru Outback 3.0R 155k mls

My Air Con suddenly stopped working some while back, fuses checked, relay checked but the clutch would not engage. It was suggested here in an earlier post the refrigerant was too low.

I bought a recharge can with a gauge, connected it with the engine running and bingo, the compressor suddenly engaged and cold air was blowing from the vents. I thought that fixed it but yesterday it was useless again. The compressor is turning, the condenser fans are on and the low side pressure is 40psi so nothing appears to have leaked out since I recharged it. The condenser fins are clear but while it was running the high side pipe was really hot while the low side was cool.

What do I do next?

Well you can't just go by the low pressure you need to get some AC gauges and see what the low and high pressure is and if you don't want to buy the gauges place like AutoZone rent them free then give me the pressure at idle low and high and a 2000 RPMs low and high with the AC on
