Good Day Scotty!

I have a 2008 Mazda 3 GS with 262,000km on it, I am not getting cold air in my cabin I recharged the AC in the summer the cooling fans are spinning, the compressor works, the pipe that carries ac fluid is cold, my buddy thinks it could be the blend door not letting enough cold air on it, what are your thoughts? There have been times where it has blown slightly cold air

I could be the one door but you're going to need a daily level scan tool to analyze that stuff it's very complex but if the cold side of pipes of the AC are cold and high pressure sides are hot that's probably it

It could be the EVAP core aka evaporator coil, as well. You can have that tested (for leaks) with via a dye test. The dye test is cheap and definitive. Warning: If it's the EVAP core, that's an expensive fix. The part is not expensive. It's just on many cars (such as my 08 Camry, where the core was replaced a couple of years ago) you have to remove the entire dash, and everything behind it (a mess of wiring, among other things) to get to the EVAP core. And everything has to put it back "just so" that nothing rattles, or wires don't sustain damage, etc. It's a very detailed and labor-intensive procedure. The labor costs, therefore, are high.
