Hi, I have a VW Touran 1.4 TSI from 2007. It has been a problematic car, you may have seen other posts about it. I recently removed the dashboard to fix the check-engine light, and after putting back the dashboard I got two lights on: check engine & airbag.
I've driven the car for a few miles now and introduced a OBD Scanner. It didn't find any faulty code, but still I selected erasing all codes. After that, the check-engine was gone. The airbag light is still on.
I know that check-engine and ABS light are usually on after removing the dashboard. ABS goes away after driving a few meters, and check-engine with a reader. What I don't know is what to do with the ABS light. I find it weird that it appeared after removing the dashboard, I don't know if there is any correlation or just a coincidence.
My obdII scanner doesn't read any airbag errors.
Thoughts?
You probably pinched a wire, knocked a connector loose, or something like that when you reassembled the dashboard
BTW, my objective is to fix this light (ensuring that the airbag works as it should, taking it to a garage if needed) and sell this car. It's been a real headache.
