Hello, my 2004 Volvo S60 with 134.000 KM (yes in metric coz i ain't no imperialist) has a AW55 Aisin automatic transmission, bought it used 6 years ago from a private party, now it has been sitting in a garage for about a year.

Yesterday when I put in gear, may it be D,2,3,4 or reverse, the car doesn't go at all, fluids in normal amount, what shoud I check next? i mean its an Aisin tranny AKA Toyota owned, how could it not work???

thanks in advance,

Adding gearbox specialist @Dan

forgot to mention that before this happened, its jerking when i pass gears from or to neutral

@DayWalker
His name is too disrespectful for me to answer.
Also, “it’s a Toyota so it’s reliable” is just not true at all. The AW55 is awful gearbox like most Aisin products.

ah cmon men

Things aren't made to sit and not you so what you want to do is start it up let it warm up then try reverse and then just first gear and maybe even push it a little in neutral to get going then put it in drive it's probably stuck the pump is probably stuck and once it freeze it should work fine.

still doesnt work uncle scotty, forgot to mention that before this happened, its jerking when i pass gears from or to neutral
